What is your background? 

"I worked with my husband managing his medical practice for the past 15 years.  When moving to North West Arkansas we decided to find a business or franchise that I could manage and run to complement our retirement years. " 

What drew you to the massage industry?

"My husband and I had been getting regular massages for years.  After researching, we were amazed at the number of people that had never received a massage.  Realizing the booming awareness around the health and wellness industry, it seemed like a perfect fit for us. " 

Why did you choose LaVida Massage? 

"With LaVida Massage, the business plan seemed simple, the start up costs were reasonable and it was a new franchise for our area.  I liked the idea of offering different options and a superior customer service experience to our guests."  

What do you think sets LaVida Massage apart from its competitors?

"The LaVida Massage Leadership Team is always open to my ideas and is always available to listen and help with any questions or concerns that I may have.  I feel as a whole, we are all working to be a family and streamline our practices.  LaVida Massage gives their guests different options for cost savings and health benefits without locking them into a yearly contract that many people dislike."

What is your background? 

"I was a corporate retail veteran for 30+ years. I have always wanted to start my own business, but never made the time like many people in the workforce."

What drew you to the massage industry? 

"I had been traveling the globe to over 60+ countries and without massage, I would have never survived the millions of miles during my career, so I was personally a true believer in the power of massage.  I definitely wanted to be in the healthcare sector, but I didn’t want to deal with insurance claims, health care regulations, etc.   The business model had to be positively affected by the Internet or big box retailers vs. being threatened by them.  Massage therapy kept coming to the top of the list due to its growth potential (short and long term), growth record, a growing number of clients, and the opportunity for expansion throughout the United States.  Finally,  I was looking for a business that would benefit the community that I live in by providing high quality care and local participation in community events and charities."

Why did you choose LaVida Massage?

"I chose LaVida Massage because of their focus on both the customer and the employees with their policies and procedures.  Adding time between appointments to provide for quality care and guest interaction, not to mention time for the therapist to actually be able to practice their craft is an example of a program that is both good for the customer and good for the therapist. LaVida Massage had proven that their model is successful and more importantly with hard work and dedication could be replicated in other markets.  Running a new business is not easy, but LaVida Massage was always there through every step of the process to help.

I was also looking for a company that had established their programs and procedures, but was still young enough to be willing to try new ideas and push itself to continue to grow and evolve.  I have found that the leadership is quite open and they are very interested in what we have to say as franchisees. " 

What do you think sets LaVida Massage apart from its competitors?

"The focus on a gender neutral, family friendly environment which looks like a spa, feels and smells like one, but is very much a wellness center sets LaVida Massage apart.  The ability to do much more than just relaxation therapy is a tremendous need for most of our guests.  A facility like LaVida Massage that specializes in injury and repair work, range of motion and sports/athletic techniques and also does relaxation is what makes us different. 

Additionally, LaVida Massage understands that customers have choices.  Everything about LaVida Massage is transparent, so there are no hidden agendas with customers, or for that matter franchisees.  The membership program is the most customer friendly of the major franchises. The fact that all of our online reviews are unfiltered says a lot about the franchise - that they are confident in their model and way of doing business."
